ONE PIECE TAKING OVER JAPAN

As part of the celebrations for its 200,000,000th sale, the One Piece manga is taking over the trains and stations of Tokyo in an extravagant and doubtless extraordinarily expensive advertising campaign.

The “takeover” campaign involves full carriages on the typically packed Yamanote line, one each for 9 of the most popular of One Piece’s vast cast of characters. A number of key stations have also been the recipients of extensive One Piece hoardings.

Also Shueisha, a major publisher in Japan, has announced that Oda Eiichiro’s ONE PIECE will grace the covers of every single magazine belonging to the company. Straw Hat Pirates will be on the covers of 34 magazines, even for fashion and literary ones.  Each magazine will have either special appendixes or a present related to ONE PIECE for their readers.
